INTERNATIONAL RELATIONS |

The Association shall incorporate the Scandinavian Division of the International Association for Dental Research. Officers of the Association must be active members of the IADR. |

MEMBERSHIP |
| |
4.1 |
Any individual who is interested in dental research and education can be accepted as a member. An institution, organization or commercial company that has similar interests can be accepted as an institutional member. |

4.2
|
Application for membership shall be submitted to the Board of the Association and shall be endorsed by two members of the Association. The Board shall determine the eligibility of the applicant.

|
New members shall also apply for membership in IADR. |

ORGANISATION |

5.1
|
The Association is led by a Board, which consists of one member and one personal alternate from each country. Members of the board are elected for 5 years and serve staggered terms so that continuity in the work of the Board is maintained. The Board also includes the Secretary-General and the Treasurer, as well as the Editor; however these Board members have no vote. The primary function of the Board is to be responsible for the economy of the Association and to maintain contacts with IADR and other Divisions of IADR |

The Board is chaired by a President, elected by the general assembly. The Board elects a Vice-President from among its members. |

5.3 |
In each of the Nordic countries Denmark, Finland, Iceland, Norway and Sweden there may be a Section of the Association. |

5.4 |
A Section is lead by a Section Board which consists of a chairperson normally the Association Board member from that country and one or two members. The primary function of the Section Board is to work towards the Associations aim within its country, maintain contact with members of the Section, and represent a Planning Committee for the next Association Annual Meeting in that country. |

5.5 |
A Section Board is appointed for a period of 1 year by the Association Board member from that country. |

5.6 |
The President and the Secretary-General are the representatives (Councillors) of the Association to the IADR Council.If an elected Councillor is unable to meet in the IADR Council the Board of the Association may designate one or more members that are participating in the IADR meeting, to represent the Association in the IADR Council. |

5.7 |
The Secretary-General and the Treasurer are elected by the General Assembly for a period of 5 years. Honorarium to the Secretary-General and the Treasurer is determined by the General Assembly. |

5.8 |
There are no limitations concerning reelections of the Board members, Board of the Section, Secretary-General, the Treasurer or the Editor of the Journal. |

5.9 |
The General Assembly elects every year two Auditors to review the Associations' budget. The Auditors shall see to that the Associations book keeping is correct and that all expenditures are according to the Budget or decisions made by the General Assembly. |

NOMINATING COMMITTEE |

6.1 |
The Nominating Committee consists of 5 members, one from each country. |
| |
6.2 |
The Nominating Committee is renewed with one member each year. Re-election is not permitted. |

6.3 |
The Nominating Committee elects from among its members a chairperson. |

ANNUAL MEETING |
| |
7.1 |
The Annual Meeting shall normally be held every year. The Annual Meeting shall normally alternate among the member countries as decided by the General Assembly. The General Assembly may decide to cancel the Annual Meeting one year, if special reasons so indicate. The general Assembly may also decide that the Annual Meeting should be arranged jointly with an other division of the IADR or be incorporated in the Annual Meeting of the IADR. |

7.2 |
At this meeting research reports are presented. In connection with the Annual Meeting the Association shall hold a General Assembly. |

7.3 |
It is the responsibility of the Board of the Association to ensure that an Annual Meeting is arranged. Normally, however, the Board of a national Section or Planning Committee appointed by the Board of the Association is responsible for the conduct of the meeting. The Board of the Association is responsible for the General Assembly. |

7.4 |
The time and the place of the Annual Meeting shall be determined by the General Assembly at least 2 years in advance. The Board/Committee responsible shall send an invitation to the members to submit scientific reports to be presented at the Annual Meeting at least 8 months in advance. |

7.5 |
Attendance at the Annual Meeting is open to all members of the Association. The registration Committee responsible. |

7.6 |
Members of other IADR Divisions may also submit reports and attend the Annual Meeting upon payment of the same registration fee as the members of the Association. |

GENERAL ASSEMBLY |
| |
8.1 |
The ordinary General Assembly, which is the governing body of the Association, shall be held during the Annual Meeting. Only members of the Association may take part in the General Assembly. Members who participate in the general assembly should, no later than at the beginning of the meeting receive a copy of the agenda. |

8.2 |
The agenda shall contain the following items:
- Election of Chairperson, Secretary and Tellers
- Approval of the General Assembly being duty notified and of the agenda
- Annual report of the Board of the Association
- Report of the Concillors
- Accounts
a) Accounts of the Association
b) Accounts of the Journal
- Budget for the coming year
a) Dues from ordinary members, student members and institutional members
b) Subscription fee to the journal
- Time and Place of future Annual Meetings
- Elections
a) Members of the Board
b) President
c) Nominating Committee
d) Secretary General
e) Treasurer
f) Two Accountants and their Deputies
g) Editor
- Any Other Business

8.3 |
At the General Assembly each member shall have one vote. All elections and resolutions are made by open voting and by simple majority. Special provisions apply to amendments to the Constitution and dissolution of the Association (?10 and ?16).If voting is even, a new vote is taken. If voting is still even, the Chairperson has a casting vote, except in elections, where the decision is made by lot. |

8.4 |
The term of office for each newly-elected officer shall be from the 1st. of January or after the Annual Meeting at which the election has taken place. |

References from the General Assembly is to be sent to all members. |

RESEARCH GROUP CHAPTERS |
| |
9.1 |
Members interested in any scientific branch related to dental science may, with the approval of the General Assembly, organize a Research Group Chapter for the advancement of the objectives of the Association.

9.2 |
A Research Group Chapter must have at least 10 members who are also members of both the Association and the IADR. The Research Group Chapter should contribute to the scientific program of the Annual Meeting of the Association. A Research Group Chapter which no longer meets their requirements may be dissolved by the General Assembly. |

9.3 |
A Research Group Chapter may elect as affiliated members persons who are not members of the Association or IADR. Affiliated members may not hold an office in the Research Group Chapter and have no voting privileges on matters concerning the Association. Affiliated members shall pay the same registration fee as non-members at the Annual Meeting. |

9.4 |
The affairs of the Research Group Chapter should be managed in conformity with the Constitution of the Association and of IADR. |

AMENDMENTS TO THE CONSTITUTION |

Proposed amendment to the constitution must be submitted in writing to the Board of the Association at least 4 months before the General Assembly. The proposal shall be mailed to each member of the Association not less than 2 months before the General Assembly at which it becomes a special order of business. An amendment requires a majority of two thirds of the vote |
